The Plaza Seoul Contact Email Adress

After spending quite some time looking for the Email Address of the Plaza Seoul hotel myself, I thought I would share it with the rest of the world.

You won't find it on the Marriott Website (why not actually?) and the Contact Us link located at the bottom of the Plaza Soul own website doesn't work either. Annoying and disappointing at the same time!

Anyway I found the Plaza Seoul contact form through Google https://www.hoteltheplaza.com/eng/etc/contactus.jsp but don't waste your time filling it out. I did and even though I got the confirmation that the message was delivered they never replied and also told me that my message never arrived!

So one address I got on the phone is: clublounge@hoteltheplaza.com and the other one I found is: plazacs@hoteltheplaza.com

In the end I recommend calling the Plaza Seoul hotel +82 2-771-2200 and to find someone who speaks proper English. One very helpful individual is the supervisor of the Lounge Mrs. Elli Park.

BTW, the Plaza Seoul is quite fussy when travelling with kids. So for instance they don't let kids younger than 13 into the executive lounge. I mean not at all. So if you think you can at least have breakfast in the lounge together... well you cannot.

The breakfast charge per child is 20.000 KRW. Outrageous if you consider that a 5 or 7 year old child will consume a bowl of corn flakes.

The only deal I was able to make on the phone was, I'll book a rate with breakfast to cover the kids and get the breakfast for the parents on my Marriott Gold benefits. The breakfast rate, which covers two adults, was 20.000 KRW more expensive that a rate without breakfast, i.e. 10.000 KRW per person. Otherwise 20.000 KRW per child, and 25.000 KRW per adult...

To be fair they at least upgraded me to a suite and got me a roll away bed for free. Otherwise the roll away bed for a little child costs extra too. For an adult ok, but for a 5-7 year old child? Not very family friendly.

The only reason I'm staying the the Plaza Seoul is the central location. Apart from that I prefer the JW Marriott Soul which at least will let you have breakfast at the lounge and when I asked them about a roll away bed suggested that I can a room with two double beds, which would save me money.

Also stay clear of the JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul which is very nice to stay for adults but fussy when you bring your kids along.

Skischule Beuerberg Erfahrung - Finger weg!

Wir haben bei der Skischule Beuerberg einen Ski-Kurs für unsere Kinder gebucht und uns - vor allem unsere Kinder - so richtig wochenlang darauf gefreut! Unsere Buchung wurde uns sowohl telefonisch als auch schriftlich bestätigt. Mit der Zeit wurden wir informiert, dass Ski-Kurs aufgrund des milden Wetters von Beuerberg nach Lenggries verlegt wurde. Kein Problem! Wir sind einen Tag vor dem Beginn des Ski-Kurses nach Lenggries gereist, um uns das alles anzuschauen und schon mal die Ausrüstung auszuleihen.

Als wir dann am späten Nachmittag bei der Ski-Schule Beuerberg anriefen (das Büro ist erst ab 17:00 Uhr besetzt), um uns nach dem Treffpunkt zu erkundigen, hat uns Frau Sabine Vieweg erklärt, dass der Kurs abgesagt wurde, weil es zu weniger Anmeldungen gegeben hat! Als wir dann gesagt haben, dass wir doch vor kurzem eine Bestätigung per Email bekommen hatten, hat sie uns dann doch gefunden und lapidar gesagt, dass man vergessen hat uns zu informieren.

Alles was die Dame für uns übrig hatte war uns Privatunterricht anzubieten und uns an eine andere Schule zu verweisen. Dass man sich nicht lange im Voraus für einen Ski-Kurs anmeldet, um dann doch Privatunterricht zu nehmen oder in letzter Minute nach einer Ski-Schule suchen zu müssen, das versteht die Ski-Schule Beuerberg nicht!

Kein Bemühen oder Entgegenkommen! Wie die Ski-Schule Beuerberg mit ihren Kunden und mit den Gefühlen der Kinder umgeht ist einfach absolut unverschämt und rücksichtslos!

Best Seats The Lion King Lyceum Theater London

So, you're thinking of seeing The Lion King in London's Lyceum theater and you're wondering which seats you should get?

We went to see The Lion King yesterday, Oct 26, 2016 sitting on G9 and G10 in the stalls. Not bad seats indeed when you consider that you sit close to the stage being able to see the facial expressions of the characters throughout the show. The benefit of sitting close to the aisle is that the characters are passing and standing next to you at some points of the show.

With all that being said I wouldn't pick those seats again however because of two things. First, it's still to far away from the stage and second the audibility which is hard to believe kind of poor. It takes effort to follow along because many of the dialogs and even some singing seem to quite.

So my recommendation is to take the third, maximum fourth row of the middle section of the stalls. Why this recommendation? Those tickets cost the same as stalls G9 and G10 but allow you a better view of the facial expressions of the characters as good as possible. I also hope that you can hear better as the accustics of the Lyceum Theater is rather underwhelming.

After having seen The Lion King both in New York and London and I recommend seeing it in New York.

Fiddler not capturing traffic - SOLVED!

After spending hours fiddling around with Fiddler options I found this simple solution that worked:

Use machine name as the hostname instead of localhost or 127.0.0.1.

Rather then

How I fixed my iPhones 4S broken WiFi in iOS 7

After upgrading my iPhone 4S everything worked just fine for quite a while. One day though I've noticed that I'm not connected to WiFi. Wired I thought, so I've reset the device and the problem was gone.

Couple of days later I got the same problem but this time neither resetting the phone nor the network settings have fixed the problem.

After digging on the internet for a couple of minutes I've stumbled upon an unusual solution:

1. Heat up the iPhone with a hair dryer until you get a temperature warning pop up saying “iPhone needs to cool down before your can use it.” (Have a cloth ready, the iPhone will get really hot).
2. Once this message appears, pop your iPhone into the fridge for 10 minutes to allow it to cool down.

Once that’s done—Wi-Fi and Bluetooth should work again.

I think there is a risk that you can damage your device, but since I'm out of guarantee I thought I'd try it to save time resetting the phone (I couldn't find a single post saying that resetting would fix the problem), contacting Apple and last but not least $200 for a fixing the phone. I've thought if I break it, I'll have to pay the $200 anyway, so why not try it? I wouldn't have tried it, if I had guarantee though.

!!!UPDATE!!!

Two days after installing the 7.0.6 iOS Security Update, WiFi has stopped working again. It looks like I have to fire up my hair dryer again!

The hair dryer did the trick again! $200 + $200 = $400 saved so far!
